Pattycake asked:

My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary on Maui in January (Ka’anapali) and want to renew our vows. We went there on our honeymoon. I think we want to do it on Kahekili Beach because we are staying next door at the Westin Villas. Has anyone gotten married or renewed vows at this park? If so, would you recommend that location? Can anyone give me recommendations on a wedding service? We want digital pics but don’t want to spend a fortune.

Dave Huffman asked:

Seen from above, the two shield volcanoes that make up the island of Maui look like the head and torso of the well-loved demigod for whom the island is named.

Maui was a tricky fellow who is said to have stolen fire from its supernatural keepers, gifting to the mortals. He also captured the sun with a rope woven from his wifes tresses and slowed its path so that we could enjoy more hours of daylight on his beautiful island.

Modern visitors to this most magical of islands still reap the fruits of his labors by making the most of sunny tropical weather, where the temperature rarely dips below 65 degrees and the lush vegetation and colorful animal life just add to the feeling that they’ve just arrived in paradise.

This second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands is host to Haleakala, the largest dormant volcano in the world, at 10,023 feet tall. The summit of Haleakala National Park provides awe-inspiring views of five of the eight major islands. Watching the sunrise on the summit of Haleakala is an experience that visitors carry with them the rest of their lives.

Wainapanapa State Park is another wondrous natural adventure. Discover the black sand beaches, sea arch and caves for yourself. Every year from mid-December through mid-May pods of humpback whales make their way back to the waters surrounding Maui. The Kai Kanani will take you out to Molokini Island as you marvel at the grace of these peaceful giants.

The Whale Discovery Center at the Maui Ocean Center helps visitors understand the humpbacks strange and beautiful life cycle as it takes them from the frigid waters of the Artic to the warm and soothing seas around Maui and back again each year.

The natural beauty of Maui will surround and envelope you as you explore its endless beaches. Swim the calmer waters of the west shore, including Maalaea and Kaanapali.

Or head up to North Maui Ho’okipa for some of the best surfing, boogie boarding and windsurfing in the world. If youre looking for a little privacy, try Oneloa Beach, the last undeveloped beach on Maui s leeward side.

During a daily sun shower, duck into the Hana Cultural Center, a traditional Hawaiian village showcasing hundreds of artifacts and books and thousands of historical photographs.

The Maui Arts and Cultural Center is a 12-acre visual arts center and the Tedeschi Vineyards in the Upcountry offers tours of a unique pineapple wine vineyard. Dont forget to try a sample!

Dining is another fabulous adventure in Maui. It won’t take long before you run into the ever-popular plate lunch. Hawaii’s version of fast food, a plate lunch is inexpensive and perfect to take to one of the island’s breathtaking parks. Each shop’s plate lunch is unique, so stop in at a few shops during your explorations.

For something a little more upscale, try the Tropica Restaurant and Bar at the Westin Maui or Vino Italian Tapas & Wine Bar in Kapalua. Mango Cafe Grill & Bar offers a fabulous buffet on Sundays that includes both traditional Hawaiian fare and mainland comfort foods.

Maui isn’t just a visual and culinary delight, it’s also a shopper’s dream come true. Spend a few hours browsing for interesting island gifts at the Kapalua Shops, enjoy free Hawaiian entertainment while you shop at Queen Kaahumanu Center or do some power shopping in air-conditioned comfort at the Lahaina Cannery Mall.

Maui accommodations are just as diverse as its natural beauty and entertaining activities. Opt for an intimate and cost-conscious stay at one of the island’s lovely bed-and-breakfasts, choose from an array of luxurious condominiums or find relaxation or lots of opportunities to play whatever your pleasure at one of Maui’s golf resort hotels, spa resorts, beachfront hotels, family-friendly hotels or romantic accommodations perfect for honeymooners.

Another great option is to try a privately owned rental. There are a number of private owners who are willing to rent their home or condo. Many rental by owner websites are available to help you locate the perfect place to settle in for your stay in this little slice of heaven.

Like its mythological namesake, Maui Island is powerfully memorable and perfectly magical. Make it a part of your memories forever.

Stacey Vianetto asked:

Are you in the process of planning your Maui honeymoon? If you are, have you already made your overnight accommodation reservations? If this is something that you have yet to do, you may want to take a close look at all of your options. Unfortunately, many individuals instinctively think of Maui hotels and resorts. Although hotels and resorts are a great place to spend your next Maui honeymoon, it is important to remember that they are not your only options.

One of the best options for Maui honeymooners involves renting a Maui villa. Maui villas are known for their great locations, which often result in breathtaking views. Maui villas are similar to Maui vacation homes; however, they tend to be much more elegant in nature. In fact, did you know that some Maui villas come equipped with staff? This staff may include house cleaners and chefs. How amazing would that be for your Maui honeymoon?

Perhaps, the only downside to staying at a Maui villa is the cost of doing so. It is not uncommon for guests to spend a thousand dollars or more to rent a Maui villa. With that in mind, is also important to mention that many renters report that the cost is more than worth it. If you are looking to have a private, romantic honeymoon, the price of a Maui villa rental may be more than worth it to you.

As previously stated, Maui villas are similar to Maui vacation homes. If you are still looking for romance and privacy on your honeymoon, but are on a budget, you may want to examine Maui vacation homes. They also have a number of benefits. Those benefits include privacy, as well as a home-like feel. Although vacation home rentals come in a number of different formats, you may find yourself with a backyard or a view of the beach.

One of the few downsides to renting a Maui vacation home is the price as well. With that in mind, it is important to remember that Maui vacation homes come in a number of different formats. With a little bit of searching, you should easily be able to find an excellent Maui vacation home rental that is within your budget.

As previously stated, Maui resorts are an option that many vacationers examine, when visiting Maui. One of the many reasons why Maui resorts may be perfect for your honeymoon is because they have a number of onsite services and activities. It is not uncommon for Maui resorts to offer onsite or nearby dancing, dining, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, or golfing. Having easy access to many of these activities can save you travel time, as well as money.

Perhaps, the only downside to spending your Maui honeymoon at a vacation resort is the fact that you will not be alone. Maui resorts are popular and they are often filled with guests. If you are looking for the ultimate level of privacy on your honeymoon, a vacation resort may not be your best option. Instead, you may want to examine villas, vacation home rentals, as well as condo rentals.

Speaking of condo rentals, Maui has an unlimited number of condo rentals to choose from. Although you will not be the only guests at a Maui condo complex, you will find the traffic much less than you would at a vacation resort. Many condos resemble miniature vacation homes or villas. In your condo, should you choose to rent one, you will find furnished bedrooms and possibly even a laundry room; everything you could need on your honeymoon.

The above mentioned options are just a few of the overnight accommodations that you should examine, when planning your Maui honeymoon. In all honesty, you may want to examine all of your options, as you never know what great deals or treasures you may find. To do this, you may want to turn to the internet. A number of websites, like HawaiianBeachRentals.com allows you to examine Maui condos, vacation homes, condos, and well as vacation resorts.

Thomas Rodriguez asked:

Are you interested in taking a Maui vacation? Better yet, are you interested in staying in a beachfront vacation home? If so, have started looking for available homes? Depending on where you search, you may be surprised with what you find, and not necessarily in a good way. Although beachfront vacation homes are well worth the prices that they are being rented out for, you may find some of those homes difficult to afford. However, there is good news. That good news is that there are a number of different ways that you can go about trying to find Maui beachfront vacation home deals; deals that may make renting a beachfront vacation home more affordable.

When looking to find a Maui beachfront vacation home, especially one that is being offered at a decent price, you need to start searching. The best way to find the greatest deals or the most savings is by comparing prices, such as how you compare prices at your local supermarket. You will want to find a collection of Maui beachfront vacation homes, vacation homes that peak your interests, and then record their rates. Actually writing these rates down may make it easier for you to compare them. Once you have found a fairly large number of Maui beachfront vacation homes, you will want to compare all of the rates that you were given. If you are looking for an affordable beachfront vacation home, you will want to go with the one that charges the lowest amount of money.

Although it sounds relatively easily to compare the prices of Maui beachfront vacation homes, you may have a problem finding those homes, especially if you do not plan on using the internet. If you have internet access, you can easily perform a standard internet search, often with the worlds Maui beachfront vacation rentals. Your internet search will likely return a number of results; results that include Maui beachfront vacation homes that are available for rent. Documenting those home and their rates, will give you exactly what you need to make price comparisons.

Despite the fact that a standard internet search can give you the results that you are looking for, you may want to take a different approach, an easier approach. Instead of performing an internet search, to find Maui beachfront vacation homes, you are advised to use an online travel website, particularly one that deals with Hawaii vacations. An online travel website will allow you to search through a large number of Maui vacation homes, including beachfront homes. What is nice about using a travel website is that you can find what you are looking for all in one place. Essentially, this eliminates the hard work associated with having to find Maui beachfront vacation home deals. You may also even be able to find side by side comparisons, making your work even easier!

It is also important to keep the rest of your reservations in mind, when trying to book a stay at a Maui beachfront vacation home. You can easily save money by booking your Maui beachfront vacation home reservations separately, but you may also save money by booking all of your reservations together. This can be done with the purchase of a vacation package, namely a Maui vacation package. Maui vacation packages are offered by a number of online travel websites. They are designed to not only save you money, but also save you time, by eliminating the need for multiple reservations. Depending on what you are looking for, you should easily be able to find and save money with Maui vacation packages that include a Maui beachfront vacation rental, as well as a car rental and airline reservations. Although you may not want to purchase a Maui vacation package, you are, at least, advised to check one out.

Regardless of how you familiarize yourself with available Maui beachfront homes, you are advised to still compare prices. When searching for the best Maui vacation deals, price comparisons will help to prevent you from paying more money than you need to.

Maui Wedding asked:

Now that you have planned a wedding/honeymoon adventure, I am going to tell you that a Maui destination wedding is “no ka oi,” which means “none better,” in Hawaiian. In comparison with other destinations, Maui is affordable, exotic yet practical and safe.

Choosing a Maui destination wedding and planning ahead with a good wedding based travel consultant, like you will find at Merry Maui Weddings and Vacations, will reward you will reward you with surprisingly affordable prices. Flight specials direct to Maui abound. Pleasant beachfront condos can commonly be found for as little as $100 per night. Of course, you can spend more to stay in a luxurious world-class resort. An abundance of healthy, exotic or familiar, food can be found for any budget. A good agent can get you great prices on rental cars and activities for your Maui honeymoon.

Maui offers an incredible diversity of cultures on one island. Food, entertainment, clothing and language of Hawaiian, Tahitian, Japan, Marshallese, Portuguese, Mexican, Chinese and Puerto Rican, and more can be readily found and enjoyed by visitors.

But, on the other hand, if you are the cautious type who wants to play it safe, Maui is an American wedding destination… you can easily find familiar grocery stores, fill a prescription or see your favorite television shows. People drive on the right hand side of the road and everyone speaks English, although “pidgin” and other dialects sometimes flavor it and will, hopefully, charm you.

Decent roads, streets signs and an abundance of maps will make traveling much more comfortable than you might imagine a destination wedding and honeymoon could offer.

So, Maui offers the best of all worlds in a destination wedding choice: First-World amenities and security, diversity, economy and ease. You will most probably return again and again. You might even move here. It happens!

To learn more about how easy it is to book your Maui destination wedding, or to see how inexpensive a Maui Wedding package can be, please contact the Maui wedding vacation experts, “Merry Maui Weddings & Vacations,” toll-free at (888)588-0400.

My husband and I are going to Maui in September. It’s been years since I’ve been there…but the last time I was there, I went snorkeling with a company that only took out about 10 people in a small boat. I’m looking for something similar this time around. (Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the company I went with last time.) Any suggestions?
