The island of Maui has very nice hotels with beautiful tropical landscaping and access to some of the world’s greatest beaches.

Surrounded by beautiful beaches, tropical rain forests and a warm climate, hotels in Maui are unlike hotels in other parts of the world. They are most often themed and designed to be one with its beautiful natural surroundings.

Whether you are honeymooners looking for a place less crowded or a hardworking pencil pusher trying to have a relaxing and rejuvenating time away from the stress of work, The Prince Hotel in Maui has something to offer to you.

The Prince Hotel, Maui is located on a white, crescent-shaped beach near the foot of the majestic Haleakala Volcano. The moment you arrive, the warm and hospitable staff welcomes you. Once they give you a cool oshibori towel and drape lei of seashells upon your shoulders you instantly feel the serenity that surrounds the place.

The Maui Prince Hotel is the one and only hotel located in Makena. All rooms at the Maui Prince Hotel open to a central courtyard featuring immaculate Japanese gardens with stone paths and mesmerizing ponds filled with beautiful Japanese koi fish swimming around. The hotel has an open air feel to it and every window and private lanai gives a view of the blue Pacific Ocean.

The Maui Prince Hotel has well appointed and spacious rooms and the most luxurious suites. The hotel’s Makena Golf Course has 36 holes, which were made according to the design of Robert Trent Jones Jr. The Maui Prince Hotel also provides easy access to Makena Beach’s beautiful white sand. There are several internationally acclaimed restaurants at the Maui Prince Hotel, which serve different exquisite cuisines such as Hawaiian and Japanese. Other interesting amenities available at the Maui Prince Hotel is the Ho’ohana fitness center, a state of the art Plexipave tennis courts equipped with night lighting and Spa services.

Another hotel, which is immensely popular in Maui, is the The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas. This great hotel is credited to be the best Maui has to offer. The intricate freeform pool has five tiers, waterfalls, 128 foot water slide and is complimented by lush landscaping and a lot of lounge chairs. A boardwalk connected to the resort offers the most convenient and safe access to the beach.

The Westin Ka’anapali Hotel is an idyllic retreat. The exotic and stunning vistas of this exclusive oceanfront property in the North beach are sure to knockout every expectation of the guests. Hawaii has some of the world’s most exciting world-class professional level waves, which gives visitors the chance to recharge by engaging in the ever-popular sport of surfing. Feel an adrenaline rush as you ride the top of the perfect wave while trying to balance on a surfboard. Surf instructors are present on the beach to teach those who are interested in learning how to surf.

For those who prefer to tee off with golf, rather than ride waves. The Westin Ka’anapali Hotel provides admission to the North and South Ka’anapali golf courses. These two golf courses provide 36 holes of Hawaiian golf. They also both sport a driving range, clubhouse, and a pro shop.

Hotels in Maui possess the one of a kind characteristic that truly reflects the unique Hawaiian culture. Even a night’s stay in one of these hotels can be a truly relaxing, recharging and even educating experience.

Hello, when I am done with Nursing school, I plan to move to Maui and practice residency at Maui Medical center.
However, my husband and I surf as well, and would like to be located near both the beach and hospital.
Does anyone have any ideas?? I have been doing some research, however the names of those towns start to sound alike after a while.

Thanks

Do you love the water? Do you welcome adventure? Are you planning a vacation? If you answered yes to any of these questions then I have an opportunity you will not want to miss. If you’re looking for a great vacation with lots of underwater adventure then Maui is definitely the place for you. Maui has a vast number of activities to try including snorkeling and scuba diving.

The second largest island in Hawaii, Maui offers some of the best places to experience marine life up close and personal on either a snorkeling or scuba diving excursion. With crystal clear waters and an average temperature of 75-80 degrees Farenheit, your experience under the sea will be one you will never forget.

Whether you choose to snorkel and stay close to the water’s surface or are a little more adventurous and want to scuba dive into deeper waters, you’ll be astounded by the abundant sea life that Maui has to offer. Maui’s sea life is like no other. With over 700 different types of fish you’ll need a fish guide to keep them all straight. Immersing yourself in the water on your snorkeling or scuba diving trip, you will be captivated by the colorful and wide array of fish and marine animals. You may even catch a glimpse of an eel or ray as well.

Marine life is not the only thing that will capture your attention while you’re snorkeling or scuba diving. Many underwater volcanoes have created underwater lava formations that are unique to the islands of Hawaii. These formations offer a beautiful sight to any diver or snorkeler. You’ll definitely want to take your underwater camera, as this is a sight you will not experience anywhere else.

Before you decide to take off on your underwater getaway, you may want to visit one of Maui’s many dive shops that offer lessons and tours in both snorkeling and scuba diving. There are different safety precautions and techniques that are good to know before you dive in. Ocean waters tend to be unpredictable and inexperienced swimmers can find the waves to be challenging.

Dive shops also offer vacationers the choice of renting or buying the equipment you’ll need to fully enjoy your experience. However, if you own your own equipment, prices for lessons and tours will be much cheaper. Rental prices for snorkeling equipment can start out as low as $20 a day while scuba diving equipment is a bit more costly at as low as $75 a day. Tours and lessons also vary in price depending on the length of the tour and the size of the group. If you don’t mind going on a tour with other vacationers you could save some money on the cost of your trip.

Snorkeling or scuba diving, the choice is yours. If you’re planning a vacation to Hawaii, either of these underwater activities are a definite must!

Caitlin Moore asked:

Some people have certain ideas about Hawaii; it’s touristy, it’s expensive, it’s just plain tired…While it’s true that many people visit the Aloha State, you have to see for yourself whether or not the stunning beaches, tantalizing trade winds, and unforgettable sunsets have been used up by all the people who have visited, or whether they are on such a level as to rise above the labels usually attributed to high-traffic destinations. Here’s a hint: if you do things right, you won’t be disappointed by your visit to Hawaii.

One thing that would start you off on the right track would be to visit Maui. Yes, this island is a tourist hotspot, but there are plenty of hidden treasures and untrammeled portions of beach that will make you think twice before calling this place boring or predictable. With over 30 miles of sandy shoreline fit for swimming, surfing, and snorkeling, there’s bound to be a bit of beach for you to call your own. Join the crowds for a scuba dive or head off on your own for a snooze, either way you probably won’t find much reason to complain.

Specifically, make note of Kaanapali Beach, which has been named one of the world’s tops, and D.T. Fleming Beach Park, another expert’s favorite. Plenty more big names exist, but don’t be shy about trekking off in search of someplace different, someplace that is literally off the beaten path. Rumor has it that these hidden gems do exist, but their supreme beauty will want you to follow the lead of so many others and keep their delights to yourself. See them, experience them, and then conveniently forget where they were. Until your next visit, that is.

Maui beaches are also good for whale watching during the months of December through May, so get out the binoculars or, even better, charter a yacht to take you out towards the action. These massive mammals have a certain elegance that cannot be easily described, so here’s wishing you the best of luck in catching a glimpse of these exciting inhabitants of Maui’s waters.

If you arrive on the shores of this magical island feeling more than a little world-weary, make some time to properly pamper yourself at one of the high-class spas. After a facial or a massage you’ll be seeing things in a whole new way, a way that will include no memory of cubicles, computer crashes, or traffic jams. And, though it is definitely a popular thing to do, the golfing in Maui is so good that you’ll forgive yourself for being a clich? when you tee off on the most gorgeous course you’ve ever seen.

Another attention worthy feature of the island is its 55 mile Hana Highway. Characterized by its crazy corkscrew twists and turns, this stretch of road is challenging yet rewarding. Park a careful driver behind the wheel, crack open the window for some fresh air, and gaze out the window as you navigate your way through one of the most beautiful drives you’ll ever experience. Make a few stops to fully appreciate the culture and the scenery, and congratulate yourself with a Mai Tai once you make it to the end.

The list of unique, hardly-monotonous activities goes on and on, so hopefully you haven’t yet written Maui off as the same old stuff. Sea kayaking, eco-tours, Polynesian shows, art galleries, and a goat dairy should all keep you busy for a few days without ever feeling that you’re being herded around in a bland tour-like atmosphere. Maui invites you to explore the world at your own pace and with your own goals in mind, so pack a lunch and set out for a rainforest hike or lie back in a hammock, either way you’re doing the right thing.

To really do the right thing, avoid the standard step of booking a hotel. That doesn’t mean you should set up a tent on the beach (although that would definitely be a way to do things differently), rather, consider reserving a vacation rental. A funky, one-of-a-kind property will suit your taste to rebel against the norm, and the privacy that goes along with your beach side villa will satisfy your need for escape.

If you’re willing to give it a try, Maui will be the kind of vacation that breeds little complaint, besides the fact that it will have been far too short. Reserve a flight, pick out a winner from the array of Maui Vacation Rentals available online, and then prepare to forget every stereotype you’ve been foolish enough to believe about Hawaii. You’ll have plenty of time to form your own opinions once you’ve slipped off your shoes and taken a deep breath of fresh Maui air.

When in Maui you will truly experience the meaning of the words, “Maui no ka oi” which means Maui is the best. And rightly so, you will find Maui Hawaii the best holiday destination you have been to. And when you will be there, you will find that it is a place beyond comparison and a place where you can indulge without worries and become one with nature.

It offers the great versatility of nature in the form of large beaches, majestic mountain ranges, lush rain forests, and its superior marine life which include the humpback whales in the waters. If I call it the best part of Hawaii the natives and the visitors both will agree with me beyond doubt.

Lahaina a famous town in West Maui in Hawaiian language means the “cruel sun”. When in this part of the world, always remember that you are quite close to the equator which makes the sun rays more powerful.

So when going to take a sunbath always take proper precautions so that you won’t get sunburns. After all who would like to get the sunburns on the start of holidays?

This place with all its natural treasures is a wonderful tourist destination. You can find this place changing colors with everyday of your stay. So much so that you will find time falling short to fully experience this place. You can start with relaxing on the warm beaches getting sunbath in the morning and then jumping into the waters to get a glimpse of its marine life.

The very second day you can plan for trekking and camping in its lush green valleys. And when you do all sort of activities in the day time soothes you in the evening with the cool breeze and an interesting nightlife. The city is full of events all the time. You will have to work overtime to keep up with the unlimited fun taking palace in Maui.

Reaching this city is not a problem as it is conveniently connected with the Kahului Airport which is the main airport for the islands of Maui. Getting around in the city besides its lack of public transportation systems is never a problem as you can find car rentals everywhere.

Another advantage in going in for car rentals is that you will find it cheaper than any other place in the US. Same is the case with the hotels as you can find a hotel for every budget. So if you are running on a tight budget be assured that you will find a budget hotel.

The only important part for you is to make prior reservations as the city is always packed with tourists. Some of the regular facilities offered by the hotels in the city include air conditioned rooms, car rentals, airport pick and drop facilities, swimming pools, health clubs, spas, restaurants etc.

The best part of Hawaii is always ready to embrace you into its valleys so if you yet not visited this wonderful place, just pack your bags and take off to this wonderful part of the world, Maui.

Gabe Gayhart asked:

A recent survey revealed about 18% of respondents use half or less of their paid vacation days each year, some for fear that they might not seem as dedicated to their jobs in the eyes of management. Logic would seem that if you feel management looks at you this way then this is the right time to take that vacation. Sounds like the job is seeming a bit stressful. When you decided that you wanted to go on vacation, what did you do? Begin researching and discovering the more beautiful spots in the world. Does a luxury vacation condo on a tropical island sound like the way to go?

Wailea, Maui is a paradise for those looking for a romantic getaway, or for a fun-filled family vacation. Wailea has just about anything and everything you could want in a vacation spot; Ideal snorkeling conditions, while afternoons are good for sunning and evenings feature gorgeous Maui sunsets.

The French explorer La Perouse discovered this historical landmark after Haleakala’s last eruption in 1788. The eruption had recently destroyed the settlement of Keoneoio. Parts of the village remain intact today, and a strip of lava running through the bay has changed the shoreline permanently.

Here are the top five Wailea condominiums you can book once you are convinced that South Maui is right for you.

Top 5 Wailea Condominiums:

1. Premiere studio 8F - 600 square foot Studio, Cathedral ceilings, a full murphy bed, comfortable furnishings and a fully equipped kitchen make this a good spot for two - especially if a quick walk to the pool is important. This is a spacious study with a nice touch of luxury for the lone traveler or the college sweethearts looking for something better than a hotel. The studio is within the Wailea Ekahi Oceanfront Village on Maui’s south shore. The village is made up of Studio, one bedroom luxury condos. Luxurious but not stuffy, most properties here have been completely renovated. Prices range from $200-$400+/nite.

2. The Secret Garden Condo - 1 Bedroom, tile floors, comfortable and elegant furnishings, handmade and original artwork, tropical bedroom and walk-in shower. Vintage style teak and rattan furnishings. Kitchenette with granite countertops, TV w/dvd, cd player. Basically, this unit is a step up from a nice hotel room and nothing more. Rates range from $150-$250/nite. Granted this is not the most luxurious choice. The Grand Champion Villas are more of a semi luxury resort, containing 1 and 2 bedroom condominiums. Located in the heart of Wailea, on Maui’s sunny south shore. The Secret Garden made the top Wailea condo list because due to it’s semi- luxury, it gains points for affordability.

The next three are all located in the Wailea Beach Villas, a Wailea condominium resort that is considered to be of ultra-luxury caliber. Wailea Beach Villas offers discerning travelers the privacy and comfort of spacious residential condominiums ranging in size between 1,900 and 3,000 square feet. Floor plans are open in these two and three bedroom residences and all have private lanais that include built-in barbeques. All of the units have state-of-the-art kitchens that feature modern appliances and granite counters. There is 24-hour gated security, two stunning swimming pools with one serving as adults only, two Jacuzzis, fitness facility, activity room and business center.

3. The Maui Escape - Decorated with Hawaiian & imported Indonesian furnishings, the condo features an incredible in-ceiling sound system, granite counter tops, marble flooring, two Sub-Zero refrigerators, WIFI internet, flat screen TV’s, and ceiling fans in each room. This unit is 2,200 square feet, which is very spacious for a two bedroom. The custom kitchen is amazingly beautiful, It would be difficult to pry a chef out of there. Breathtaking views, and footsteps from the water. Rates start at $900 - $1,500/nite.

Fourth bedroom hosts a queen size sofa with custom mattress for a sumptuous sleeping. This gameroom has a Playstation 3. Accommodations include wireless internet.
